The chapter opens on Valentine’s Day, when all the characters are seen exchanging chocolates with one another. Everyone in the badminton club received chocolates that Ayame had prepared. However, Kyo was nowhere to be seen. She wanted to give Kyo a particularly generous portion, so she loaded up a box with the stuff.
She hoped that by helping him out financially, he would come to like her. Then, Ayame and Kyo run into each other as they wander the halls. Ayama informs him that she went up to the second level to retrieve a shuttlecock that had fallen there. Chinatsu and Hinachi walked in when they were having a conversation.
Ayame was afraid of interfering with Hinachi, so she refrained from doing anything that may dampen the atmosphere. On her way back, she noticed Matsuoka looking downcast. It would appear that no one gave him any chocolate on Valentine’s Day.
Ayame chooses to give Kyo the chocolate she made especially for him. Kyo watched from afar as she gave him the chocolates. Kyo almost got the mistaken idea that Ayame liked him after seeing her deliver chocolates to Matsuoka.
Taiki spotted Matsuoka during practice with the same chocolate box he’d seen in Chinatsu’s bag. Taiki then intends to inquire of Matsuoka concerning the box, but Chinatsu takes his hand and insists he come with her instead. She hands him a piece of chocolate she had made just for him. Taiki was relieved to find that she had nothing to do with Matsuoka receiving the chocolates.
