The upcoming Soulslike action RPG Black Myth Wukong from Chinese developer Game Science caught the interest of the gaming community as soon as the ambitious game was initially unveiled in 2020. We haven’t heard anything since the game’s release window was revealed earlier this year on its development. That is no longer the case, though, as the game’s developer has stated that it will also be released on other platforms, and more thrilling gameplay has been shown off on IGN.

IGN has published gameplay footage as part of its initial hands-on look in advance of the game’s developer’s upcoming presentation. The teaser reveals a number of features of the upcoming Soulslike. This features a number of enemies, such as a huge horned monster, a huge enemy that resembles a scorpion, and a different insect-like opponent called Centipede Guai that players must defeat in a pitch-black cave.

Several spells that players can employ in the future game are also displayed. This includes both offensive spells like the fire spin maneuver and spells that change the player’s character into a toxic spewing beast. The Black Myth Wukong’s launch will be limited to next-generation consoles and PCs, according to the preview.

Three different boss battles, as well as a largely finished narrative, were included in this 45-minute sample. It’s important to note that following the incident, the development team modified the trial version in response to comments and recommendations made during the closed-door review I took part in. My experience may therefore be a little different from that of others in Hangzhou and at Gamescom in Cologne.

It’s important to note that several videos with gameplay from the next developer presentation just surfaced online. The films featured a number of bosses, some of which were shown in the game’s locations and IGN’s preview. In addition to a new trailer for the game, Black Myth Wukong will also be playable at the next Gamescom convention in Europe.

With numerous intriguing traits, Black Myth Wukong appears to be a very promising soullike. However, there are still a number of unanswered questions regarding the game, some of which will probably be answered during the presentation of the game.
