The fans are excited about the Black Clover And Boruto anime latest updates. Michiyuki Honma, the current president of Studio Pierrot, spoke with Comic Natalie on April 18, 2024, about their plans to turn Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War arc into a seasonal anime, as well as other hiatus anime like Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Black Clover. They cited the success of Demon Slayer as an example.
He does concede that Demon Slayer marked a watershed moment for the animation industry and that many studios attempted to emulate its style and quality. He and Studio Pierrot found it to be incredibly inspiring for the potential of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War storyline.
“In my opinion, the animation industry reached a turning point with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. The result of a substantial investment of time and resources yielded a high-quality production that went viral and drew viewers of all ages. Both before and after the release of “Demon Slayer,” I strongly believed that we needed to alter our production methods. Not only that, but other studios are putting out similarly sized, high-quality works, and you can find them on commercial TV in Japan.”
Witnessing Demon Slayer sparked an idea in Honma’s mind to give Bleach a go in a seasonal style. Bleach, in contrast to Toei Animation’s ongoing One Piece, did not start as a seasonal anime and had over 400 episodes falling continuously, thus that was a major move.
However the president of the studio wanted Pierrot to be the best in the business. He was scared that if he didn’t take that risk, his brand’s influence would decline. There was no turning back now that the Bleach anime had become a seasonal smash!

Mr. Honma states his intention to continue producing high-quality animation in his future projects and confirms the project’s success in this regard.
Additionally, “BLEACH: The Thousand Year Blood War Arc” has been well-received in other countries. People even treat me like a hero when I travel abroad for events.
Notably, he alludes to another April 2024-released show named Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai (“A Crow Doesn’t Choose Its Master”), stating that it was also made with this NEW STYLE. He also asserts that the creators intend to apply the same level of animation quality and seasonal release method to their other currently-hiatus shows, such as Boruto and Black Clover!
