Guts’ band of heroes seems to be in a bad situation in chapter 375, titled “Dawn Breaks on the Unyielding Fog of Night,” but things might not be as they seem. Silat, a lifelong enemy of the Guts, commands a Kushan naval detachment that emerges from the darkness to kidnap the Seahorse’s crew and passengers. As a result of his inconsolable sadness for allowing Griffith to take Casca, Guts was among the detainees, and he was led to the deck in chains, confused, and unable to fight.
At the very moment that this situation appears to be at its worst, an unexpected ally emerges from the ranks of the Kushan—Rickert, a former bandmate of Guts’ in The Band of the Falcon. In the grand scheme of things, this temporary respite could potentially be a precursor to the alliance that will bring down Griffith for good.
Finally, the “Fantasia Arc” has come to a close, and it looks like Berserk is entering its penultimate phase now. All the loose ends are starting to fall into place in anticipation of the expected attack on Falconia, and maybe even the destinyful showdown between Guts and Griffith.
