Revenant Reborn is frequently mentioned in leaks that suggest the Synthetic Nightmare will undergo a complete rework. This is because Apex Legends season 18 appears to be skipping the introduction of a new legend for the second time.

Getting some significant changes to Revenant’s spiraling kit would be a welcome consolation prize, even though the prospect of not having a new legend once more might truly spoil the season 18 experience for some. Revenant Reborn’s development team contemplated at least two different builds. The first was first made public during season 12 and consists of skills that were formerly believed to be connected to Phantom, a different legend codename. The other build, which was most recently revealed by Apex insider iLootGames on June 16, includes abilities that might not be as game-changing but still sound potent.

Beginning with his passive ability, the earlier build appeared to give Rev a double jump, whereas the second kept his improved climbing abilities but only added the capability for him to highlight enemies who are in danger of dying. Both of Revenant’s builds make use of a brand-new maneuver where he “super jumps” to a destination. Naturally, this would mean that his Silence would be abandoned.

The biggest difference, however, is in his revised ultimate. In the first, the Death Totem would appear to be removed, and Revenant would be given a void grenade that would temporarily transport him and one foe into a separate realm where they could battle alone. The other would maintain the design of the Death Totem that is unique to Revenant while switching out the shadow respawn system for health and shield regeneration that begins when an enemy is knocked down and killed.

It is still possible, and possibly even likely, given the nature of playtesting and early information in Apex, that what ends up in the finished product is entirely different from these abilities. Also uncertain is whether his hitbox will undergo any changes. However, it does seem from these leaked kits that Respawn ultimately wants to make Revenant a more streamlined, combative legend to play.
