Previously in Episode 10

In this episode, Itsuomi’s treatment of Yuki stands in sharp contrast to her treatment of everyone else. Yu Miyazaki does a superb job of switching up the pitch and tempo of his voice whenever his character is interacting with Yuki or anyone else. Although he can be distant and nice to most people, his focus is completely on Yuki. His manner of speech toward Yuki is distinct, particularly affectionate, as Rin had informed her. Because of his subsequent interactions with Oushi, this is a standout moment.

An Expression of Love, Like Cherry Magic! Episode 10 removes any superfluous drama from the characters. “Cut the bullsh*t,” Itsuomi says to Oushi as they confront one other. Even though Oushi won’t put his feelings into words, he is aware that Oushi loves Yuki. With gentleness, Itsuomi intends to murder him. Quite comically, he dragged Oushi about campus. In summary, the scene and the show serve to highlight the contrast between Oushi and Itsuomi and Itsumoi’s fame. They have a mutual fondness for curry buns and Yuki, as we find out later on. Aside from that, there are no parallels.

The show may easily escalate their animosity. Shin points out that Itsuomi is a wonderful human being. That is why Shin finds it impossible to be angry that Emma loves him. Neither Itsuomi nor Oushi are the antagonists in the story. The show deftly shifts gears instead, avoiding a love triangle and the will they/won’t they dynamic.

On the contrary, the conflict arises because Itsumoi clearly knows and accepts his emotions, whereas Oushi struggles to identify them. His self-assurance is growing, and that is one of the most endearing things about Itsoumi. He practically tells Oushi that he and Yuki would have been bound together by fate regardless of when or where they met. No matter what, he always goes with Yuki.
