As if the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has not seen its fair share of batting collapses so far this year, international cricket also came up with a ridiculous match that saw not one, but two batting order collapses in a single T20I match. The game was played between Zimbabwe and Pakistan, marking the second T20I of the three-match series. It was played at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe. Pakistan were bundled out for 99, chasing a total of 119.  They were cruising at 78/3 and looked set for a comfortable victory. However, they shockingly lost seven wickets for just 21 runs. In the Pakistan batting lineup, Babar Azam scored half the total runs his team scored. Azam scored 41 runs off 45 balls while Danish Aziz was the only other significant contributor, accumulating 22 off 24 deliveries.

Only three batters in the Pakistan lineup could record double digits. The Zimbabwe bowling attack proved to be absolutely lethal, as was evident when they picked seven wickets while giving away only 21 runs. The pick of the Zimbabwe bowlers was Luke Jongwwe, who took four wickets and gave away only 18 runs. Apart from him, Ryan Burl picked two wickets for 21 runs in his four overs, with Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava accounting for one dismissal each.

The first innings also tells the story of a batting order collapse. Zimbabwe could only manage a score of 118 in their 20 overs. Opener Tinashe Kamunhukamwe was the highest scorer with 34 runs off 40 balls while no other batsman reached the 20-run mark.

The Pakistan bowling attack displayed a fabulous team effort to restrict Zimbabwe to 118. All six bowlers used picked up at least one wicket each, with Muhammad Hasnain and Danish Aziz taking a couple each.
