Anamul made his first-class cricket debut for Dhaka Division in the National Cricket League towards the end of 2008. Anamul scored his first double century in first class cricket while competing for Khulna Division against Rangpur Division in the 2017–18 National Cricket League. In that particular innings, Anamul scored 216 runs. Anamul Haque became the highest run scorer at the 2018-19 Bangladesh Cricket League, when he scored 658 runs in just 6 matches.Â

After consistently performing well in first class cricket, Anamul finally got the chance to play Internationally for Bangladesh national team. Anamul was selected in Bangladesh One Day International team to play against West Indies in 2012. It was on 30 November 2012, when he played his ODI debut match for Bangladesh. Anamul struck a match-winning century and was chosen man of the match in the second game of the series and his career. Anamul Haque’s first Test match against Sri Lanka came on March 8, 2013, at Galle. Anamul competed for Bangladesh in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, however, on March 5, while attempting to save a boundary, Anamul dislocated his shoulder and was forced to leave the competition. After that, Anamul Haque’s contribution to the team continued to suffer. The last match he played for Bangladesh was on 10 December 2022 against India, but was unable to create an impact with his performance.
