Yastika Bhatia is a woman cricketer who was born and brought up in India. Yastika was born November 1, 2000  It was the month of February, year 2021 when Yastika was called-up for the first time to the India women’s cricket squad. She was selected for the One Day Internationals (ODI) series to be played against South Africa. For Yastika the feeling was not real, when she was first called up for the national squad, as she described this incident in an interview.  After her selection to the national squad she expressed gratitude to her coach and club for giving her the opportunity. She also played for the India Women’s A team during their December 2019 trip to Australia.

In her early days when Yastika started playing cricket, she was a right hand batter. But from the age of 8 she was taught to bat with her left hand. As a left handed batter gives the team an edge over the opponents. Also she was initially a tall medium pace allrounder, but she changed her role from an all rounder to the wicket-keeper because the team required that. In an interview, Rajkuvardevi Gaekwad once said that Yastika was always a disciplined child from the beginning. She always used to train hard at the academy and took all her lessons seriously. She said that they were noticing Yastika from quite some time, and they believed that she really has the potential to represent team India internationally.

Seeing Yastika’s dedication despite getting the chance to play in the ODI against South Africa, she was again selected to the national team in August 2021 for the series to be played against Australia. She was also included in India’s roster for the one-off women’s Test match to be played later in the month. She made her Women’s One Day International (WODI) debut for India against Australia on September 21, 2021. She made her Test debut for India against Australia on September 30, 2021. The next after debuting in an ODI and Test match she played her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut match against Australia on October 7, 2021. She was selected to India’s squad for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup which took place in New Zealand in January 2022.

Yastika herself gives lots of credit to Kiran More, under whom she initially started training. Kiran once said in an interview that Yastika was always a terrific talent. They together worked very hard on keeping improving her fundamentals. Yastika has played a total of 35 International matches in her career including all the three formats of the game. Her most impressive performance can be seen in One Day Internationals (ODI) where she has scored 478 runs in 19 matches. Her highest score is 64 runs. In T20 Internationals she has scored 146 runs in 15 matches and her highest score is 35 runs. She was also a part of India’s team for the cricket competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, in July 2022. She is a tall and impressive wicket-keeper and has a lot of potential in her batting.
