What is wrong with Pant the T20I batter?

Pant hasn't had a huge game performance for India in T20Is in a while, and he's still looking for that one big, impacting match-winning knock that might make all the difference and help him rebuild his confidence. What appears to worsen Pant's difficulties in T20Is is that he frequently appears bewildered and struggles to balance his role in the batting lineup

In the absence of regular openers, Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan were elevated to the top order against New Zealand in the second T20I. However, the wicket-keeper batsman failed once more. Although he first timed the ball effectively, Lockie Ferguson dismissed the Indian vice-captain cheaply. Pant’s potential is undeniable since he has proven himself in longer formats. However, he requires to do more in T20Is.

This has been Pant’s numbers in T20Is this year. In 20 innings he has just one half-century and his strike rate is far from ideal. As an opener this year. As an opener this year his record is even worse. He is seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket and rightly so because of what he has achieved in Test cricket and ODI cricket in recent times but Pant the T20I batter seems to be uncomfortable whenever he comes out to bat.

Is Pant keeping Samson out?

Pant hasn’t had a huge game performance for India in T20Is in a while, and he’s still looking for that one big, impacting match-winning knock that might make all the difference and help him rebuild his confidence. What appears to worsen Pant’s difficulties in T20Is is that he frequently appears bewildered and struggles to balance his role in the batting lineup. These factors have compounded into a major problem for Team India’s middle order.

Since Rahul Dravid and the company believes in having a left-handed batter in the XI Pant has got a longer rope than he should have. This has meant that Samson despite his impressive performances in the limited chances he has got has to sit out. Furthermore, in T20Is in 2022, the Rajasthan Royals captain has an average of 44.75 and a strike rate of 158.40 for India. Samson has also made an impact in the IPL, scoring at a rate higher than 135-140 while keeping a healthy average.
