Shahbaz Ahmed is a professional cricketer, who represents Indian Cricket Team Internationally. Shahbaz is a bowling all rounder, who bowls left arm orthodox and a left handed batsmen. Shahbaz in domestic cricket, plays for Bengal. He belongs to Mewat region of state Haryana, India. He was born on 12 December, 1994. In the Indian Premier League he currently plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was on 9 October, 2022, when he got to play for team India on the International stage against South Africa. It was in the month of August in 2022, when he was selected in India’s roster in place of the all rounder Washington Sundar, as he was injured.  

Shahbaz was selected in a series against South Africa in October 2022. He was part of India’s One Day International team. He was selected in the team against Zimbabwe, but he didn’t get to play in the playing eleven. It was in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare trophy on 20 September, 2018, when Shahbaz played his List A debut match for Bengal. In his first class debut match against Hyderabad he scored 27 runs and ended up taking 1 wicket. On 24 February, 2019, Shahbaz played his T20 debut match against Haryana at cuttack. He took 1 wicket and scored crucial 17 runs off just 12 balls which helped his team win the match by three wickets.

Shahbaz has appeared in a total of 13 first class matches where he has 559 runs which has 4 fifties included. He has grabbed 37 wickets and bowled with an economy rate of 2.60. In List A cricket he has appeared in 16 matches and has scored a total of 435 runs. In List A cricket he has grabbed 18 wickets and his best bowling figure is 3 wickets for 35 runs. After Mohammad Shami he became the seventh cricketer from Bengal to take a hat trick in Ranji Trophy in a match against Hyderabad. In the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy, he was selected in India’s A team. In the 2020 Indian Premier League auction for the 2020 season, he was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Shahbaz’s performance in his first Indian Premier League match was not up to the expectations, as he didn’t get any wickets and also got 18 runs. It was the 33rd IPL 2020 season match, when Shahbaz played his debut match against Rajasthan Royals. In his 1st IPL season he ended up taking only 2 wickets and bowled with an economy rate of 7.33. In the 2021 IPL season, while playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shahbaz took 3 wickets in just 1 over. It was his best IPL performance so far. He bowled with amazing economic figures in a match against Rajasthan Royals in 2021 IPL, as he gave only 10 runs. In the mega auction of 2022 IPL, Shahbaz was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
