West Indies will host India for the three-match ODI series at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. The first ODI will be played on July 22 while the second match will take place on 24th and the third and final game is scheduled for 27th. The visiting squad will feature Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill in the 16-member squad.
Veteran India opener Dhawan will lead the side with all-rounder Jadeja named his deputy with the regular white-ball specialists Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Shami rested for the ODI series. KL Rahul, who underwent a surgery for sports hernia recently, was not considered for selection.
The visiting side have a decent experience at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad in the ODI format. Their last visit at the venue for an ODI encounter, however, came in 2019 when they won the match by six wickets. Dhawan is one of the highest run scorers in the venue while Jadeja has picked up the second most wickets here for India.
