The second of three one-day internationals between India and New Zealand began at Seddon Park in Hamilton. The match, however, had to be called off since the rain gods made their presence known during the game. Suryakumar Yadav, the flamboyant India batter, was seen riding with the ground personnel at Seddon Park after the covers were removed. The right-hander was spotted sitting in the ground staff’s van in a video that went viral on social media.

The Seddon Park in Hamilton had received a lot of rain and was on the verge of a wash-out, as it had earlier in the first T20I match in Wellington. India batted first and scored 22 for no wickets in 4.5 overs before the covers came on. The game resumed after a thorough inspection by match officials, with each side having 29 overs to play. Tom Latham’s stunning innings helped New Zealand win the inaugural One-Day International.

Once play resumed Dhawan got out and SKY came into bat at 3, he struggled initially but then Gill and Surya added more than 50 runs together when the rain arrived again and spoilt the Sunday of fans at the stadium as the match was called off.
