In the second ODI at Raipur, the Indian Cricket Team won the toss and decided to bowl first. An international match is being played at Raipur for the first time. After a dramatic first ODI, India and New Zealand didn’t alter their starting lineup. Indian pacers were perfect in their line and length since they didn’t offer the hitters any room. Mohammed Shami took advantage of the pitch’s generous support to take two key wickets for Daryl Mitchell and Finn Allen. The Kiwi hitters were only able to score a boundary after 9 overs, leaving them with a score of 15-3.

The tenth over was given to Hardik Pandya. The flashy all-rounder bowled with perfect line and length. Pandya bowled a length delivery outside off where Conway just checked his shot and Pandya took a one-handed screamer with a reaction time of 0.5 seconds on the fourth ball of the over. Conway was caught after scoring 7 runs in 16 balls, including one four. The score for New Zealand was 15-4. The fans and pundits at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium went insane after witnessing the 29-year-incredible old’s reflexes. Conway tried to soak up the pressure after India’s new ball bowlers took back-to-back wickets, but he couldn’t hold out for long. Earlier, Mohammed Shami supplied a double strike, while Siraj dismissed Nicholls.

India leads the series 1-0

In the first ODI between the two teams, Indian opener Shubman Gill made history by being the fifth Indian player, and the youngest, to score a double century in ODIs. In the 50-over format, he also became the fastest Indian to 1000 runs. While Gill shined with the bat, Mohammed Siraj continued his dominant run with the ball, picking up his second four-for in ODIs. The Indian team is unlikely to make any changes for the second game in order to keep the winning combination. Batters rarely follow up a double-century with another big hit. Can Shubman Gill break the cycle? You wouldn’t hold that against him because his previous three scores before the double tonne were 116, 21 and 70. While India’s batting lineup appears to be quite formidable at the present, the spotlight will be on their bowlers. They let Dasun Shanaka score huge when rallying alongside the tail a few days earlier. And in Hyderabad, they were once again on top but couldn’t get that decisive wicket for a long time, putting them in the driver’s seat.
