Will Jacks’ first five-wicket haul and Agha Salman’s damage-limiting fifty, and two fast strikes by the hosts on a Rawalpindi surface where dismissals have been few pushed the first Test between Pakistan and England on the fourth morning at a good pace. Following an hour and a half of resistance led by Salman’s 53 to leave Pakistan with a 78-run first-innings deficit, the home side made early inroads as England extended their lead to 124 runs before lunch. The visitors kept the tempo high, in keeping with their first-innings performance and aggressive mentality, and were 46 for 2 after seven overs of their second innings, with Zak Crawley on 24 and Joe Root not out on 4.

Pakistan made 579 runs in their first innings on the back of three centuries by openers and Babar Azam. Pakistan did not play as fast as England did. England were really aggressive with the bat in the first innings and they seem to be carrying the same approach in the 2nd innings. During the Lunch break on Day 4 Sky Sports Broadcaster, Nasser Hussain was seen amongst the fans discussing about the game.
