The second Test of India’s 2023 tour to Australia is now underway. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are on the verge of breaking several batting records in this match. The second Test between India and Australia begins on February 17. (Friday). The match will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Australia reached 94/3 in 25 overs before lunch on Day 1 after losing David Warner (15), Marnus Labuschagne (18), and Steve Smith (0) cheaply.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have a chance to set a new record in the second Test against Australia. Kohli is only 141 runs away from reaching 4000 Test runs at home. Kohli presently has 3859 runs in 72 innings of home Tests. Kohli may also break the record of 25000 international runs in the match. The right-handed batter is only 52 runs away from accomplishing this accomplishment. Throughout his international career, he has had 24,948 runs. Kohli was out for 12 runs in the first Test.

Pujara honoured on his 100th Test

In terms of Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain may achieve the 2000-run mark in Tests at home. The right-handed batter needs 120 more runs to achieve the century mark. He presently has 1880 runs in 22 home Tests. Sharma can certainly reach 120 runs over two innings in the second Test after smashing a 120-run knock in the last encounter. The BGT 2023 will include four Tests between India and Australia. India has a 1-0 lead in the series after winning the first Test by an inning and 132 runs. India knocked Australia out for 177 and 91 in two innings, scoring 400-10 in the first. Jadeja earned the player of the match award after scoring 70 runs and taking seven wickets.

The batter would be aware that India still has a long way to go to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final, where they must win two more matches out of three.
