UAE is all set to host West Indies for the first time in a 3-match ODI series starting June 4. The Sharjah Cricket Stadium will be hosting all three matches of the series. The players from West Indies are familiar with the UAE pitches and the members of the UAE squad as they played together in domestic tournaments such as the Abu Dhabi T10 Blast. UAE will be led by Muhammad Waseem, who is taking giant strides in world cricket. He is a top-order gun batter and will have the likes of Rohan Mustafa, Ansh Tandon, Vriitya Arvind, etc. Matuillah Khan, Aayan Afzal Khan, Karthik Meiyappan, and Sanchit Sharma will crucial in this encounter.

On the other hand, West Indies will be treating this as an ideal preparation ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers which follow after this series. Shai Hope will lead the side in this series. Keemo Paul and left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie return to the side. The two of them were last seen in July 2022 and missed the New Zealand series owing to injury. Motie was brilliant with the ball in hand during the Test series against Zimbabwe and therefore the Windies selectors added him, seeing similar conditions for the Qualifiers. It’s surprising to see Shimron Hetmyer being left out of the side.
