Twitter reacts as Australian legend Shane Warne passes away at 52

Legendary Australian player as well as one of the greatest spinners of all time, Shane Warne, has died on Friday.

Legendary Australian player as well as one of the greatest spinners of all time, Shane Warne, has died on Friday. Warne’s management has released a brief statement, sharing that the legend has suffered a heart attack in Thailand.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement reads. “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

However, this is the second blow for Australian cricket within a day as another legend Rod Marsh has also died on Friday having suffered a major heart attack last week. Notably, Shane Warne has also tweeted on Marsh’s demise just 12 hours before his death as well.

Warne has played 145 Tests and 194 One Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1992 and 2007 where he took a combined 1001 wickets during his stunning international career as well. He played a major role for Rajasthan Royals in the maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) triumph in the inaugural season too.
