Tamil Nadu has won the 2021/22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after defeating Karnataka in the final. Shahrukh Khan powered Tamil Nadu in their pursuit of 152 runs and struck a maximum on the final delivery. He led Tamil Nadu to their second consecutive championship. Tamil Nadu qualified for their third consecutive final and this time they were the defending champions. Karnataka got off to a shaky start after being invited to bat by Tamil Nadu.

In the powerplay, they lost three wickets. Middle-order batter Abhinav Manohar made a brief comeback to help Karnataka reach 100 runs. Praveen Dubey’s crucial knock helped them to 151/7. Tamil Nadu’s top three batsmen cruised through the first overs but were faced with a tough situation later on. However, Shahrukh took the reins and guided them to a fine victory.
