Commonly known as the MCG, is one of Australia’s most iconic grounds, this venue is set to host the finals of the tournament as well as the games between arch-rivals India v Pakistan and England v Australia. Apart from these two mouth-watering encounters, The G will also host five other games in the group stage of the Super 12.
Having one of the highest capacities in the World, it can accommodate up to 1,00,000 people. The pitch here provides an even contest between bat and bowl. It also promises to have several high-octane games throughout the T20 World Cup.
Commonly known as the Optus Stadium, it was opened in 2018 and has hosted multiple big bash matches. This stadium will host games for India, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan The venue has a capacity of 60,000 people and The pitch at the Perth has some extra bounce, the fast bowlers enjoy bowling here but the spinners get very less purchase and are usually targetted by the batters.
This Stadium is located in Tasmania. It is the only venue in Tasmania which hosts international cricket matches. The capacity of the Bellerive Oval is 20,000. The pitch at Bellerive Oval is excellent for batting. However, the spinners have also found success with the old ball.
The SCG will kick off the first game of the Super 12 stage between Australia and New Zealand. This venue will host seven matches in the Group Stage and the first semi-final as well. The pitch here is a balanced one, in recent times, it has assisted spinners. The SCG has a capacity of 48,000.
Kardinia Park is one of Victoria’s most iconic sporting venues. This venue hosted the first round of the ICC T20 World Cup. The Stadium has a capacity of 30,000. The pitch here assists the bowlers, spinners tend to get a lot of spin and extra bounce.
The Gabba in Brisbane has been a fortress of Australia in test cricket for decades now, it has a capacity of 42,000 people. The pitch favours the fast bowlers due to the extra bounce. The boundaries in the stadium are huge. The Gabba is set to host four games through the course of the T20 World Cup.
The Oval has a seating capacity of 53,000 and is an iconic venue for cricket and other sports as well. It is set to host the second semi-finals and 7 Group-Stage matches. The pitch here is generally very sporting, it has something in it for both the batters and bowlers. The boundaries in the stadium are quite small compared to the other Australian grounds.
