T20 Blast 2022: Most runs, most wickets in the season

English all-rounder Sam Curran is among the top wicket takes in T20 Blast 2022.

The T20 Blast 2022 got underway from May 25 with Yorkshire Vikings taking on Worcestershire Rapids in the inaugural contest. The domestic T20 tournament in England is known as the ‘Vitality T20 Blast 2022’ due to its sponsorship reasons. The inaugural edition of the tournament took place in 2003 and 2022 will host its 20th edition. It has been a large success in England with not only the national talents and rising players participating in it but also the T20 specialists from across the world being a part.

The 2022 edition will feature 18 county teams. The teams are divided into two groups; North Division and South Division. The defending champions Kent Spitfires will be a part of the South Division group. The league stage of the tournament will run from May 25 to July 3 with the top four teams qualifying for the quarterfinals slated to take place between July 7 to 10. The semifinal and final will take place on July 16.

T20 Blast 2022: Most runs in the season

Somerset batter Rilee Roscoe Rossouw of South Africa has accumulated the most runs in the season. He has scored 278 runs in his five outings which included three half-centuries. The South African averages at a staggering 92.67 with a healthy strike rate of 191.72. Australian hard-hitting batter and T20 specialist Chris Lynn is second on the spot with 205 runs from four matches. He has an average of 102.50 with one century and as many half-century to his name.

T20 Blast 2022: Most wickets in the season

The T20 Blast 2022 has also seen some exceptional performances from the bowlers in the ongoing season. Michael Hogan for the Glamorgan has picked up the most wickets. He has scalped 12 wickets in five matches at a bowling average of 11.25. He has also picked up one five-wicket haul in the process. Jordan Thompson of the Yorkshire side is second in the list with 12 wickets from five matches. He has an average of over 13 and economy rate of 9.65.
