Nathan Ellis has been very impressive in the first two matches but with Kagiso Rabada available for selection, it will be interesting to see their combination for this encounter.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns with the Punjab Kings in the 14th game of the IPL 2023 on Sunday, 9th April at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad finished in 8th place in the points table last season and have started poorly this season as well, losing two out of their two games so far. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Adil Rashid have performed in patches but the rest of the bowling has struggled. Their batters have also failed to impress, Aiden Markram got out on a golden duck in his first game as the SRH skipper.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings have had a dream start to their IPL 2023 journey, managing two successive wins. After edging past Kolkata Knight Riders in a rain-affected encounter, Skipper Shikhar Dhawan has ensured great starts for them alongside Prabhsimran Singh, while the middle-order batters, especially Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jitesh Sharma and Sam Curran, have chipped in with crucial contributions. Nathan Ellis has been very impressive in the first two matches, he is looking in tremendous form and with Kagiso Rabada available for selection, it will be interesting to see their combination for this face-off.

The surface at the Ravij Gandhi stadium has traditionally been a high-scoring venue with batters enjoying their time in the middle. The ball might do a little bit for the fast bowlers in the initial stages of the match, but it will get easier to bat as the match progresses. The team winning the toss would be inclined to bowl first at this venue and chase the score down in the second innings with some dew expected.
