Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run-getter in ODI cricket and his records are the gold standard for not just Indian cricket but world cricket.
India will become the first nation in the history of ODI cricket to play 1000 matches. Ahead of the first ODI against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India is all set to create history. Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the Indian cricket team for this historic occasion. There will be no fans present at the Narendra Modi stadium due to the coronavirus situation. In an interview with the Times of India, Sachin Tendulkar has outlined several of his memorable moments in his 24-year international career. “World Cup 2011 final, Sharjah sandstorm vs Australia, Centurion 2003 vs Pakistan and the two VB series finals in Sydney and Brisbane vs Australia,” Tendulkar stated. The Master Blaster also mentioned that his knock of 98 against Pakistan in Centurion 2003 was also a splendid knock as there was plenty of pre-match tension before this.
“It’s one knock I would love to play again, only for the pre-match tension, the build-up, and the bowling attack which I feel was the best at that time,” Tendulkar stated. India is the first nation to play 1000 ODIs. They are closely followed by Australia and Pakistan. However, Australia has the most wins with 581 while India has 518.
