Rohit Sharma’s Indian cricket team became only the second nation in the history of Twenty20 Internationals to win 100 matches in the format after beating the West Indies by eight runs.
Rohit Sharma’s India cricket team has once again shown who is the boss in the ongoing series against the West Indies. After winning the ODI series 3-0, Rohit’s team managed to beat the West Indies in two out of the three Twenty20 International games to take an unassailable 2-0 lead. While the first match was comprehensively won, the Indian cricket team had to fight hard in the second. Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli hit fifties, with Pant sharing a 76-run stand off just 35 balls with Venkatesh Iyer. Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell then hit blazing fifties but West Indies still fell short.
The eight-run win at the Eden Gardens saw the hosts register their 100th win in Twenty20 Internationals. Thus, they joined Pakistan as the only other nation to have won 100 T20Is. Pakistan has won 117 while India is the latest entrant into the Centurion club. But, this has made India and Pakistan the only nations on the planet to win 100 games or more in all three formats.
