Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on the cusp of a special milestone, which certainly deserves a mention as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 league match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) draws closer. Ashwin will be featuring in his 250th T20 match if selected in the lineup. This will make him the second Indian bowler after Ravindra Jadeja to reach the milestone. Not only this, the off-spinner is just a wicket away from becoming the third domestic cricketer after Piyush Chawla and Amit Mishra to account for 250 T20 dismissals.

Ashwin has picked up 249 wickets in as many T20 matches so far. The 34-year-old has been in good form for the Delhi-based franchise recently, delivering a fine performance in the defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Other Interesting Milestones

The upcoming clash between DC and PBKS might further witness other cricketers achieving certain milestones. KL Rahul needs 62 runs more runs to complete 5,000 runs in T20 cricket. He is also three sixes away from smashing 200 sixes in the T20 format.

Ajinkya Rahane needs 59 runs to complete 4,000 runs in the IPL. Chris Gayle is 10 boundaries away from completing 400 fours in the cash-rich league. Kagiso Rabada is one scalp away from completing 150 dismissals in the T20 format.

DC skipper Rishabh Pant was in great form behind the wickets in the previous game against RR, pulling off a screamer to dismiss the dangerous Jos Buttler. He is just six catches away from 50 catches as a wicket-keeper in the IPL. Pant will be the first to achieve this feat for DC in the IPL.

Moises Henriques and Prithvi Shaw also have a chance of reaching certain milestones. Henriques is 31 runs away from accumulating 1,000 runs in the IPL. He is also nine runs short of completing 4,000 runs in the T20 format.

Shaw could complete 1,000 runs in the IPL, if he scores a century.
