Pakistan will face New Zealand in the second Test match on January 2 at the National Stadium Karachi. New Zealand’s batting performance in the first Test match was spectacular, with Kane Williamson scoring a double century. Tom Latham also contributed with a 113-run knock. Devon Conway fell eight runs short of his century, and Ish Sodhi also contributed with a solid 65. Their hitting order was on fire, scoring a whopping 619 runs. Pakistan also had a fantastic time with the bat in the first innings, with Babar Azam and Agha Salam scoring centuries to help Pakistan put 438 on the board.

They declared the innings and made every effort to bowl out Pakistan on the last day. They were close, but Saud Shakeel ensured that the home team did not suffer any setbacks by securing a draw. Babar Azam took the audacious decision to declare with 15 overs remaining, setting New Zealand a target of 138. They were sailing along at 61/1 when terrible light ended play and forced a draw.
