On Sunday, November 13, Pakistan will face England in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Pakistan has recovered well from a rough start to their World Cup campaign, overcoming New Zealand and South Africa to reach the final. Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi have both taken ten wickets, and their bowling attack has proven key. Meanwhile, England thrashed India in the semi-finals, delivering a warning to Pakistan. With the bat, Alex Hales and Jos Buttler put on a show, annihilating Indian bowlers. Although Hales’ form was troubling, the big hitter got through in the semis. England’s bowling has looked strong with Sam Curran and Chris Woakes among the wickets.

Pakistan vs England: Pitch Report

The pitch at the MCG has been a good one to bat on, with a first-innings average of 169. The pacers have taken advantage of the conditions early on, taking 13 wickets in the powerplay across six innings. Given the circumstances and the fact that the pitch is unlikely to change significantly during the game, batting first will be the preferable option. Teams batting first have won more games in this competition than teams chasing the total. But both of these teams are coming into the final having batting second.
