During the ongoing match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, notorious prankster Jarvo 69 was found breaching the on-field security to invade the pitch yet again. Daniel Jarvis, better known by Jarvo 69, is a notorious prankster who has gained infamy for his audacious invasions of cricket pitches during live matches. His antics have been broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide. Subsequently, it has caused both amusement and concern about the security measures at these events.

Who is the pitch invader Jarvo 69?

The India vs Australia World Cup 2023 clash again saw a pitch invasion from the infamous Jarvo 69. As a result, Virat Kohli was forced to step in and escort him out of the ground. Jarvis first made headlines on August 28, 2021. He invaded the pitch during the second Test match between England and India. Dressed in full cricket gear. Subsequently, he managed to breach security and enter the field of play. It was an extraordinary feat given the amount of security that is present in any official match. Naturally, his act was widely shared and discussed on social media. Despite this initial intrusion, Jarvis was not banned from cricket grounds at this point. This is because pitch invasions were not considered an imprisonable offence.

Earlier, Jarvis has managed to evade security at Lord’s and Headingley, despite being banned from these venues. He got the acronym ‘Jarvo 69’ after he was seen wearing the Indian jersey which read Jarvo. During the Lords incident, Jarvis even managed to bowl a ball before colliding with England batsman Jonny Bairstow. Naturally, he was charged with assault and was booked under these offences and sentenced to prison. However, this time again he was able to breach the security and enter the pitch once again. This breach can be considered as one of the significant events in Jarvis’ streaking career, as he managed to invade the pitch during one of the most prestigious tournaments in international cricket.
