According to many sources, India bowler Jasprit Bumrah may not be able to return to competitive cricket anytime soon, and he may also miss the 2023 IPL season. Jasprit Bumrah has been out of the Indian team since September 2022. Bumrah last appeared for India in a T20I against Australia at home in September. He was initially ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 but was considered for the T20 World Cup, which he had to miss as well. He had a serious back injury that has been bothering him for months. He is yet to play any cricket in 2023.

When word of the 29-year-delayed old’s comeback spread, netizens struggled to remain calm, and Twitter quickly became awash with some of the most humorous memes describing the speed bowler’s destiny. ‘Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India and IPL circles have indicated that Bumrah, out of international action for almost five months, has not been feeling comfortable and he is staring at a potentially long hiatus,’ said a report in Cricbuzz.

The Mumbai Indians are bracing for a major loss as their star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is expected to miss the IPL 2023 after failing to recuperate from an injury. According to rumours, Bumrah’s ailment (back stress fracture) is more serious than it seems, and he will miss the majority of the season. Coupled with the IPL, which runs from March to May, the fast bowler may miss the ICC World Test Championship final in June if India advances. According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI is looking at getting Bumrah ready for the crucial ODI World Cup in October-November.

The right-arm quick last appeared for his country in a T20I against Australia at home on September 25, 2022. He has been rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru since then. Previously, Bumrah was slated to return to competitive cricket with Sri Lanka ODIs last month but was forced to withdraw due to a lack of recovery time. The elite pacer has come under fire recently for being injury-prone, but India desperately needed his skills during last year’s T20 World Cup.
