Multan Sultans will lock horns with the Lahore Qalandars in the finals of the Pakistan Super League 2023 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on the 18th of March. Lahore Qalandars topped the group stage with 14 points to their name and were one of the strongest teams in this year’s league with some consistent performances, the Sultans, on the other hand, were brilliant throughout the tournament, they finished in the second spot with six wins in ten outings. The defending champions, Multan Sultans, who had a topsy-turvy start to the tournament, have peaked at the right time, coming off two successive wins over Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. They also won the 1st Qualifier against Lahore Qalandars to book their spot in the finals. Mohammad Rizwan is been fantastic this season as well and has led the team from the front. Ihsanullah and Abbas Afridi have emerged as potential threats to the opposition with the ball.
Lahore Qalandars, had a dream start to their PSL 2023 campaign and have continued with their form from last year. However, they had a poor outing in the 1st qualifier but came back well to win against Islamabad in the Eliminator. The Qalandars would like their key players- Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi, Sikandar Raza and Haris Rauf to step up and deliver in this important fixture. Rilee Rossouw has been the pick of the players for the Multan Sultans and with Pollard and Miller also in the mix, their middle order looks quite explosive.
