India chose to bat first in the series finale in Ahmedabad after winning the toss. Their skipper Hardik Pandya referred to the IPL 2022 final he played here, which his Gujarat Titans won while chasing, but he felt the bowlers had had greater support that evening. India has not lost a series at home in any format since March 2019, hence their unbeatable home record was still on the line. By winning the second game on a turning Lucknow field, which drew harsh criticism from the Indian team management, they drove this series into a decider.

Team India scored 234 runs against New Zealand in the third and final T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad thanks to an impressive unbeaten century from opener Shubman Gill. The Men in Blue and the visitors are at odds as both teams are vying for victory in the final T20I, which will decide the series. The other batsmen continued to score large runs despite Kishan’s early removal. Rahul, who joined Gill after Kishan was fired, got the boundaries multiple times and quickly got up to speed. He was dismissed for 44 runs from 22 balls at a strike rate of 192 but was unable to turn it into a large total.

2nd fifty in just 19 balls

After settling in a little bit, Gill changed up his approach and used his blitz to lead India to a significant victory. The batter instantly picked up after scoring around 70 runs, started hitting back-to-back home runs, and quickly achieved his century. In the final T20I against the Kiwis, the flashy right-hander needed just 54 balls to reach his first T20I century. The Men in Blue, who produced a pretty massive total and appear to be the favourites to win the series, hope to win the final T20I after tying the series in Lucknow in the second T20I.

The second innings chase will be difficult for the Kiwis, but the visitors will attempt to match India’s expected batting performance. If the Indian bowlers are to gain an advantage and maintain it, they must coordinate their efforts. In the series finale, early victories could cost the BlackCaps dearly. It will be interesting to watch if the visitors can perform a miracle and steal the game from the home team.
