Nepal will host Namibia in the 5th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two 2019-23 at the Cambusdoon New Ground, Ayr on Saturday. Nepal are currently at the fifth place in the points table while Namibia are at the sixth spot. Nepal have won eight, lost nine and one match ended in No Result from their 18 outings while Namibia have played 17 matches where they won eight and lost nine.
The inaugural edition of the Cricket World Cup League Two began in August 2019 as a qualification procedure for the 2023 World Cup. The seven-team tournament is being played in a tri-series and One-Day International (ODI) format. All the teams will be participating in a round-robin format in the inaugural stage. The final leg of the tournament will be played in February 2023.
The top three teams from the league two will advance to the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament with the teams placed in the bottom-half of the table qualifying for the 2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. The event, thus, becomes utmost important for the nations which are trying to acquire better ODI status in world cricket.
