Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard has smashed the longest six of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 so far. Pollard smashed the six in the defending champions’ league encounter against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). The 33-year-old took advantage of a short delivery from Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the 17th over of the first innings, rocking back and pummeling it high and over mid-wicket. It is the biggest six of the IPL so far – 105m.

The Windies cricketer helped MI finish with a defendable total of 150, smashing an unbeaten 35 off 22 deliveries. His knock comprised of a boundary and three sixes.

Third Overseas Player To Smash 200 Sixes In IPL

Pollard further became the third overseas cricketer to smash 200 sixes in the history of the cash-rich league, during the course of the innings. Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers are the only other foreign players to have recorded the unique milestone. The Windies cricketer is further the third-fastest cricketer in terms of innings taken to hit 200 sixes in the IPL.

Gayle reached the milestone in 68 innings, with De Villiers reaching the same tally in 137 innings. Pollard completed 200 sixes in the IPL in 150 innings. He is overall the sixth batsman in the cash-rich league after Gayle, De Villiers, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to smash 200 sixes.

Pollard has further consumed the second least number of balls for recording this milestone. While Gayle is the fastest having taken 1,752 balls, Pollard has consumed 2,055 balls.

The 33-year-old enjoys a glorious reputation of being a game-changer, on the back of excellent performances for the defending champions and West Indies. Pollard recently smashed six sixes in an over, while representing his national team in a T20I clash against Sri Lanka.
