IPL 2022: Full Player List Announced by BCCI, 590 Players to go Under the Hammer

The IPL 2022 has released the full player list for the mega-auction that will take place in Bangalore on February 12 and 13, with 590 players set to go under the hammer.

The full list of players for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction has been finally announced. A total of 590 players will go under the hammer on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. 48 players have registered themselves under the Rs 2 crore bracket, which is the highest base price for any player. A total of 20 players are in the Rs 1.5 crore section. 34 players are in the Rs 1 crore price range.

The IPL franchises retained a total of 2-4 players based on the budget that they wanted to enter the IPL 2022 Mega Auction in. The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. Apart from the eight IPL franchises, there will be two new franchises in IPL 2022. Lucknow Super Giants and Team Ahmedabad are the new entrants in the IPL 2022. Lucknow Super Giants will be captained by KL Rahul. They have acquired the services of Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi. Team Ahmedabad, on the other hand, has named Hardik Pandya as the captain. Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill are the other players included in the side.

Major Names Missing, Plus Some Big Surprises

There will be no Chris Gayle, Joe Root, Mitchell Starc in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. Also missing out is Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. Stokes will miss the event due to bio-bubble fatigue. Archer, on the other hand, has still not recovered from the elbow surgery that he underwent. There is a fear that many England players might not be available for the later stages of the IPL due to the series against New Zealand.

On the other hand, the auction has seen one surprising name in Neil Wagner of New Zealand. Wagner has never played T20Is and has always been New Zealand’s Test specialist. He last played for the Otago Volts in the 2009 Champions League T20. Apart from that, Blessing Muzarabani and Ali Khan are the only players from Zimbabwe and USA to feature in the auction list.

IPL 2022 to see Mega Battle in Mega Auction?

There are some massive names up for grabs in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. R Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, and Yuzvendra Chahal are some of the big Indian names in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction that might go for big bucks. Even the Under-19 India stars like Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar as well as other domestic stars might be in the middle of a price war.

Among the international stars, the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Quinton de Kock, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan, David Warner, Trent Boult, Pat Cummins, and Kagiso Rabada might break the bank.

Amongst all the international teams, Australia has the most players registered for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction with 47. This is followed by the West Indies who have 34 while South Africa is third with 33. Associate Teams like Nepal, Namibia, Scotland, and the USA have a total of seven players registered. Since 2008, no Pakistan player has been allowed to register in the IPL Auction. Here is a breakup of each side and the players registered from each country. Teams With a Big Purse in IPL 2022

Heading into the mega-auction, Punjab Kings have the maximum number with Rs 72 crore in their basket. The fact that they retained only two players shows that they want to build the team from scratch. Punjab Kings are followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, each having a purse of Rs 68 and Rs 62 crore respectively.

The team which has the least is Delhi Capitals, which have Rs 47.5 crore left for the auction. Here is the complete breakup of the sides’ purses in descending order
