West Indies is being bolstered by Shimron Hetmyer who is returning to the international set-up after almost one year
It is time to switch our attention to the white-ball format. West Indies and India will square off at the Kensington Oval, Barbados for the first ODI of the three-match series. India are arriving on the back of a 1-0 victory in the Test series and will be looking to continue their dominance. However, we got to see some valliant endeavours from the home side during the second Test but rain played spoilsport and the contest ended as a stalemate.
The Indian side will have the services of youth and experience. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be governed by the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan. Either Kishan or Sanju Samson is likely to get a nod for the wicketkeeper role. Suryakumar Yadav is also one of the names that might be displayed in the middle order. The lower order is likely to comprise two out of Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja.

Umran Malik is likely to spearhead the pace attack and either Mukesh Kumar or Jaydev Unadkat is set to accompany him. They can also chip in Shardul Thakur who can be a valuable asset with the bat too. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, renowned as Kulcha, could be seen in action as the spin twin for India.
West Indies will be led by Shai Hope and the third assignment for coach Daren Sammy after the series against UAE and the shambolic outing in the World Cup Qualifiers. The team is being bolstered by Shimron Hetmyer who is returning to the international set-up after almost one year. Jayden Seales is all set to return to the West Indies set-up after incurring an injury earlier. Will be interesting to see the combinations of the team.
The pitch is known to aid the batter in the recent past, the straight and square boundaries are very big at this venue which will get the spinners into action. The weather is expected to be slightly humid. The captain who wins the toss will look to chase the total down as there is a bit of dew expected in the latter half of the second innings.
