The mockery from Iceland Cricket aimed at Pakistan and Mohammad Hafeez has gone viral, in response to Hafeez’s assertion that inconsistent umpiring and technological challenges led to their loss in the second Test against Australia. Following Pakistan’s defeat in the second Test against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Mohammad Hafeez, the team director, attributed their loss to what he deemed “inconsistent umpiring and technology curse.”

Despite acknowledging the team’s mistakes, Hafeez expressed dissatisfaction with the umpiring decisions in the post-match press conference. In response to Hafeez’s remarks, Iceland Cricket took a dig, stating, “It’s amazing. How can the more talented and superior team have lost 16 matches in a row in Australia? Surely those lucky Aussies will stop being lucky soon.”

The pivotal moment in the match came when Pakistan needed 98 runs with 5 wickets in hand, and Mohammad Rizwan was caught behind. The dismissal, involving a contentious DRS review, led to Pakistan losing their last five wickets for just 18 runs, resulting in a disappointing defeat.

Hafeez expressed dissatisfaction with the technology, particularly the decision to overturn Rizwan’s dismissal. He emphasized the need for conclusive evidence in such decisions and raised concerns about technology introducing doubts and curses into the game, advocating for a balance between technology and the instinctive nature of the sport.
