The qualification process for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup and the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup was accepted by the ICC. The top three teams from each group of the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup will automatically qualify, along with the hosts Bangladesh (if they don’t place top 3), for the 2024 competition. On February 27 of the following year, these seven teams will be joined by the next-highest-ranked T20I squad. There will be a Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier to determine the final two slots.

Ten teams will receive automatic entrance into the 50-over World Cup in 2027. The tournament will include South Africa and Zimbabwe who qualify as the hosts as well as the next eight highest-ranked nations in the ODI standings. The last four berths for the 14-team event will be determined by an ICC CWC Global Qualifier. The 2023 men’s world cup will be a 10-team affair just like the last edition in 2019.

Hosts Confirmed for the next big ICC events

The ICC announced on Sunday that Sri Lanka will host the Under-19 World Cup in 2024. India are the defending champions. They defeated England in the 2022 edition. Zimbabwe and Namibia will co-host the next event in 2026. The ICC also announced the dates and locations for the next two Women’s Under-19 World Cups. While Malaysia and Thailand will host the event in 2025, Bangladesh and Nepal have been picked as co-hosts for the 2027 edition.

“The hosts were selected via a competitive bidding process overseen by a Board sub-committee chaired by Martin Snedden. The ICC Board accepted the recommendations of the committee who conducted a thorough review of each bid along with ICC management,” the ICC said in a statement.
