The first ODI between Ireland and USA, scheduled for December 26, has been cancelled following a positive COVID-19 test among the crew of match officials. Though only one match official has been infected, the other three in the group are unavailable despite returning negative tests, because they are deemed close contacts to the one positive case. However, the second and third matches of the series are expected to take place on December 28 and 30 respectively as planned with an alternative match official group if required.
