Finland will host Estonia in a two-match T20I series at the Kerava National Cricket Ground, Kerava on Sunday. Both the matches will be played at the same venue, on the same day. The series will be a dress rehearsal for both the teams ahead of their participation at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier.
The history of cricket in Finland tracks back to early 1960 but the first formally organized game only began under the auspices of the Helsinki Cricket Club in the 1970s. The governing body for cricket in Finland — Finnish Cricket Association — was formed in 1999. The team became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the following year while earning an associate status in 2017.
Estonia, meanwhile, were granted the affiliate status in June 2008 by the governing council of cricket. The team earned their affiliate status in June 2008 before the ICC granted a full T20I status to all its members in 2018. Interestingly, Estonia won over 80% of all their games in 2007 and in 2008 they won 94% of their games.
