On Saturday, November 5, England and Sri Lanka will face off in match 39 of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. England are in a three-way battle for a spot in the T20 World Cup semi-finals, but skipper Jos Buttler will have the advantage of knowing exactly what they need to do in their final group encounter against Sri Lanka. Butler will know exactly what victory margin will be needed to make the last four with a top-two finish in the group once Australia and New Zealand end their Super 12 campaigns on Saturday.

Sri Lanka entered the world cup as the Asian champion, but the conditions in which the Asia Cup was held were vastly different from those in which the world cup is currently being held. They also won the toss at the Asia Cup, but Sri Lanka has struggled in Australia because the toss isn’t as critical. They have very little chance of qualifying for the semifinal.
