England will host India for the first of a three-match ODI series at the Kennington Oval, London on July 12. The series is a part of India’s full tour of England 2022 which includes the rescheduled fifth Test, three-match T20I series. India captain Rohit Sharma, who was ruled out of the Test match due to Covid-19, will return back to the limited-overs format to lead his side.

England, meanwhile, begin a new era after their limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan announced his retirement and prolific opener Jos Buttler has been passed on the baton. English all-rounder Sam Curran will be a part of the ODI squad while young fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik earner their maiden ODI call-up for the national team in the 50-over format.

Team India will be featuring in the first ODI match at the Kennington Oval since 2019. In their last match at the venue, during the 2019 World Cup, India notched up their highest total at the ground of 352/5 against Australia and clinched victory by 36 runs. Former India captain Virat Kohli averages nearly 39 at the venue while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has scalped eight wickets.
