England will host India for the rescheduled fifth and final Test slated to get underway from July 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India currently lead the five-Test series 2-1 with the final match being called off in 2021 due to the Covid-19 situation. Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has been called back to the Test squad after his prolific run for Surrey in county cricket while senior pros Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will return to the side after being rested for the T20 series against South Africa which gets underway from June 9. 

India and England have faced each other in 130 matches in Tests. Out of these 130 games, India have won 31 whereas England have come out victorious on 49 occasions while 50 matches have ended in a draw. The hosts have added Kent wicketkeeper Sam Billings has been added to the England Men’s Test squad for the rearranged LV= Insurance fifth Test versus India starting on Friday at Edgbaston.

England will enter the final match, high on confidence, after clean sweeping the three-match Test series against the World Test Champions New Zealand. The other major chance in the England set up will be the captaincy of Ben Stokes under their new coach Brendon McCullum.
