Pat Cummins and his team maintained their dominance throughout the Test match, despite India’s attempts to challenge them. While players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma put up valiant fights for India, the Australian side consistently regained control whenever India seemed to be gaining momentum. It was an outstanding performance by the Australian team, leading them to claim the coveted prize.

In the morning session, Scott Boland and Pat Cummins bowled well, initially allowing some comfort to Indian batsmen Kohli (49) and Rahane (45). However, as the ball aged, Boland started causing trouble, setting up Kohli brilliantly, who fell agonisingly short of a half-century. In the same over, Ravindra Jadeja edged one to the wicketkeeper, resulting in the loss of two wickets in quick succession for India, reducing them to 179-5.

Ajinkya Rahane played some impressive shots and showed resilience, accompanied by KS Bharat’s determined efforts. But Mitchell Starc’s well-executed delivery tempted Rahane into an unfortunate shot, resulting in a catch for the wicketkeeper. The tailenders were then dismissed, with Nathan Lyon trapping Shardul Thakur leg before wicket and Mitchell Starc inducing an edge from Umesh Yadav. Bharat, the last recognized batsman, was eventually dismissed while attempting a slog. Mohammed Siraj was also outfoxed by the off-spinner, bringing an end to India’s innings and resulting in a 209-run victory for Australia.
