BCCI secretary Jay Shah has left Twitter divided after a video of him refusing to wave the national flag after India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 went viral on social media. The incident took place after India all-rounder Hardik Pandya smashed Pakistan spinner Mohammad Nawaz for a maximum to seal a five-wicket victory in their first Group Stage match.

In a video, which went viral on social media, BCCI secretary Jay Shah was offered the Indian tricolour after India won the match. But Shah refused to wave the Indian flag which caused controversy on social media. However, one of the responses on Twitter pointed out that “Because he is president of Asian Cricket Council. And as per code of conduct, he has to show neutrality against all stakeholders.”
