3 Indian players who can make their debut against New Zealand

Kuldeep Sen, Umran Malik and Shubman Gill have been given opportunities to showcase their talents and are likely to make their debut on the tour of New Zealand.

Team India will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against New Zealand between the 18th to 30th of November 2022. Hardik Pandya will lead the T20I side and the ODI team will be led by Shikhar Dhawan. Rishabh Pant has been named vice-captain for both T20I and ODI series. Some senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested. Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik and Shubman Gill have been given opportunities to showcase their talents and are likely to make their debut.

Shubman Gill

Gill is one of the finest talents going around in the Indian domestic circuit, his ability to play attacking strokes and provide stability at the top has been remarkable. He is been a very consistent player in the last few months and will be a right fit at the top of the order for the men in blue. Gill has been piling up the runs and also puts a high price tag on his wicket. Shubman has already made his ODI debut and now is the first choice to open in the T20s as well. He will most likely make his T20 debut against New Zealand in the upcoming tour.

Kuldeep Sen

Kuldeep Sen is known for his express pace as he has the ability to bowl over 140kmph on regular basis. He announced himself during the 2022 season for Rajasthan Royals. The 26-year-old pacer received his maiden India call-up for the ODI series against New Zealand. Senior pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami were rested for the ODI series which allow a youngster like Kuldeep to get a maiden ODI call-up. The Madhya Pradesh pacer is set to make his debut in the ODIs and it will be exciting to watch him bowl on the lively New Zealand pitches.

Umran Malik

Umran is one of the few Indian bowlers who can bowl over 150 kmp/h. Malik impressed one and all with his brut pace. He managed to get into IPL 2021 as a net bowler, his pace and ability caught the eye of some of the team management who backed him in playing for SRH. In 2022 SRH retained Malik for a sum of 4 cr. Later, Umran was also selected for the Indian cricket team for the five-match T20I series against South Africa. but the Jammu-born speedster failed to convert his IPL heroics into something substantial at the international stage. With some of the senior players being rested after the T20 World Cup, Umran gets another opportunity to showcase his skills and could also make his ODI debut against New Zealand in the upcoming series.
