Vijender Singh will take on West Africa Boxing Union Champion Eliasu Sulley of Ghana in his next pro boxing fight at the Balbir Juneja Stadium in Raipur. The pro Indian boxer will be looking for redemption in the match-up after losing his previous fight to Artysh Lopsan in March, last year. It was his first loss as a pro boxer. The Olympian-turned-pro boxer holds a record of 12 wins out of his 13 fights; which includes eight knock-outs.
The Haryana-native, who turned pro boxer in 2015, has been raring to go since the last 19 months following his first defeat. The ‘Jungle Rumble’ will also feature Faizan Anwar, Sachin Nautiyal, Karthik Satish Kumar, Ashish Sharma, Gurpreet Singh and Shaikhom Rebaldo in action as the undercard fights.
“I’m really looking forward to this fight, I have been training extensively for this and it will be the perfect opportunity and place to get back into my winning ways. There was a tiny blip in the last fight but I am gearing up with my team to defeat Eliasu Sulley, and I cannot wait to get in the ring. I know what I am capable of and am confident to break his unbeaten professional streak with a knockout itself. Sulley, the Ghanian pro-boxer, the reigning national West Africa Boxing Union Champion. He has a 100 percent knockout record in the eight bouts he has competed in.
