IBA Youth Men’s And Women’s World Boxing Championships La Nucia 2022: LIVE Streaming, When and Where to Watch, Schedule

The IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships 2022, which is also the primary event for the youth boxers across the world, got underway on November 14 and will continue until November 27, 2022 at the Ciudad Deportiva Camilo Cano arena in La Nucía (Alicante province), Spain. More than 600 youth boxers will be competing in the tournament. With this tournament, the Spanish Boxing Federation will host its first-ever world-class competition and celebrate its 100th anniversary. Spain has previously hosted continental-level competitions.

There are 321 boxers representing the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC), the most among any Confederation. The event will feature the top youth men and women boxers in 25 weight categories, with 13 and 12 for each gender respectively.  For men, the light welterweight division has the most competitors (52 boxers). Featherweight is the most populous category among women, with 24 boxers.

The International Boxing Association (IBA), the sport’s regulatory body, organizes amateur boxing contests called the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships for athletes who are Youths ,i.e., 17 or 18 years old (U19). In Yokohama, Japan, the Youth world championship first took place in 1979. Since 1990, it has been held every two years. The Junior World Boxing Championships, which were held from 1979 to 2006, were renamed the Youth World Boxing Championships beginning in 2008. While the Junior World Boxing Championships replaced the Cadet World Championships, which were held from 2001 to 2007.
