Malik Ahmed Monk is an American professional basketball player of the NBA. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. His college basketball days were spent with the Kentucky Wildcats. Then, Monk went to East Poinsett County High School in Lepanto, Arkansas. His freshman year saw him average a 22.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. At the same time he guided them to a 25-8 overall record, along with an appearance in the Class 2A state championship.
Born in February 4th, 1998 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to parents Michael Scales and Jacaynlene Monk, Malik Monk made it to the McDonald’s All-American game. And also happened to be a 5-star recruit right when he was on his way to college. The McDonald’s All-American game saw him take Co-MVP honors as well.
As for his days with the Kentucky Wildcats, Monk scored 47 points against North Carolina, which even resulted in him setting a record for most points in a game by a freshman.
