He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 30th, 1996 to Melvin Booker and Veronica Gutierrez. Booker started his high school basketball career at Grandville High School in Michigan but later moved to Moss Point High School in Mississippi.
Devin Booker then went on to join the University of Kentucky in 2014. After playing only on year of college basketball he went on to declare himself for the NBA drafts in 2015.
