Kyle Lowry is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Toronto Raptors of the NBA. Lowry played his high school basketball at Cardinal Dougherty High School. He later went on to attend Villanova and play his college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats. Lowry was drafted in the 2006 NBA Drafts by the Memphis Grizzlies as their 24th overall pick. Lowry was transferred to the Houston Rockets in 2009.
In three seasons with the Rockets, he averaged 11.5 points, 5.6 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. In 2012, Lowry was traded to the Toronto Raptors and has been with them since. Lowry along with DeMar DeRozan is credited with leading the Raptors to a playoff contending team over the years. Ayahna Cornish-Lowry is the wife of NBA player Kyle Lowry. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 2, 1985. Cornish-Lowry is a former basketball player herself, she played for the St. Joseph University and won the offensive player of the year two times. Throughout her career, she is said to have scored over 1600 points averaging 19.7 points per game in her college basketball career. However, her basketball career was cut short during her college time because of an injury. An ACL injury became the reason why she had to quit basketball.
